On: Weathering the storm

Raging, fearing, criticizing or whining about what is Dear One, is about as useful as shaking your fist at the rain during a rainstorm is.

No matter how much effort you exert, no matter how much you wish it wasn’t so, no matter how unjust you think it might be, there is really nothing that you can do to stop the water from falling from the sky.

But what you can do is choose how you are going to react to it.

You can stay inside if you want to. You can go outside with an umbrella, a rain coat, rubber boots, or all three. You can run around the block without your clothes on, or you can choose to go out in your favorite suede coat. You can dance in a puddle or take a walk with a lightening rod.

You can’t stop the rain Dear One, but you can choose how you are going to experience it.

On: Being of service

Trust us Dear One, they won’t stop loving you if you need to say no from time to time.

We know it can be tough to do when you want to help, when you so very much want what’s best for them.

When someone is hurting or scared or confused, their attention is focused on their discomfort, on their pain, on themselves, on telling you what it is that they need, which is completely understandable.

But here’s what they are not telling you:  They want what’s best for you, too.

Please remember balance in all things Dear One; that includes being of service to others as well as being of service to yourself.

They sustain you. They nourish you.  They replenish or deplete.

They determine the pace, quality and depth of the days, months and years of your life.

 

Like your breath Dear One, your choices are more powerful when given the benefit of your full attention.

On: Closing the gap

Things can feel out of control Dear One, when your desires and your actions are not in alignment.

  • You can’t reach joy with actions motivated by regret or sadness.
  • You can’t reach contentment with actions motivated by impatience or frustration.
  • You can’t reach love with actions motivated by loss or desperation.
  • You can’t reach abundance with actions motivated by fear or scarcity.

So please don’t be surprised when actions motivated by insecurity, obligation, fear, or a sense of loyalty don’t yield you the results that you were hoping for.

Align your actions with your desires Dear One, and watch as the gap between what you want and what is showing up for you begins to close.

On: Intuition vs. Fear

How do you know if what you are feeling is your intuition telling you beware, proceed with caution, or turn around and run, or if what you feeling is nothing more than your own habitual fears and resistant patterns acting up on you again?

When trying to discern the difference between the two Dear One, remember this:

  • Fear cuts you off from your source
  • Your intuition connects you to it

On: Prayer

A prayer is a peaceful promise to yourself Dear One – a promise to allow that which you are needing, wanting, asking for, into your life.

A prayer is a preparation.  It is a ritual to help get you ready to receive, to help you shift into a mindset of receiving.

That is why prayers of gratitude are the most powerful.
