What do you want to know about your soul’s agenda?
On: Being Disciplined
Discipline is a mindset Dear One, an attitude, an approach, a guide, a commitment.
It is not a contract, a commandment, an order, a doctrine, or a law that must be followed.
Discipline is flexible, malleable, adaptable, and strong.
It is not hard, rigid, tough, and unforgiving.
Discipline is the boat on water Dear One, not the rope tethering you to the dock.
It is the compass pointing your way, not the points plotted out on a map
It is the sail, and not the anchor.
Practicing discipline should strengthen you, empower you, guide you, help you to feel stronger, freer, more connected and in-synch with the world around you. Not frustrate you, weaken you, and leave you feeling depleted and restricted.
If what you are practicing is not serving you in all of these positive ways Dear One, there is a very good chance that what you are practicing is not discipline at all, but that you are just being hard on yourself, and that is not the same thing.
On: Being found
You want to be surrounded by more people who “get you” Dear One?
We’ll tell you how to do it.
Don’t go in search of them.
Reveal more of yourself, reveal more of who you really are to the world in all that you do, and they will find you!
On: Sharing
Today we have a request for you, Dear One.
We would like to see you share more, to have more open, honest, and genuine shared experiences with those around you.
We would like to see you share your true self more; your ideas, thoughts, feelings, laughter, tears, questions, fears, doubts, beliefs, creativity, love, compassion, and so on.
Interact, exchange, contribute, collaborate, merge, network, reach out, unite, keep in touch, correspond, connect, every single chance that you get.
Why?
What happens when you mix two colors together Dear One? What happens when you mix two ingredients? What happens when you mix musical notes, or numbers, or letters?
The answer is that something new happens, something different happens, and more often then not, something beautiful happens.
So now do you understand the reason for our request?
On: How to begin again
Take a deep breath, let it go, and begin again.
Starting over can be as easy as that Dear One, if you let it be.
On: Three little words
Be here. Now.
On: What could be more important?
- Are you loving your body, Dear One?
- Are you treating it with respect?
- Are you feeding it well?
- Are you speaking to it kindly?
- Are you keeping it fit?
- Are you making it strong?
- Are you taking really good care of it each and every day?
If your answer to any of these questions is anything other than yes, we would be remiss if we didn’t ask you, what could possibly be more important?
On: Helping with grief
If you want to help them grieve Dear One:
- Ask them what happened
- Ask them how they are doing
- Ask them how they are feeling
If you want to help them heal:
- Ask them to tell you about the one that they lost
- Ask them to tell you what they love most about them
- Ask them to tell you how they made them laugh
- Ask them to tell you how they made them feel
Help them to remember, and re-connect with the love, not the loss
On: Getting physical
There is a reason that you feel a strong desire for a physical connection with others Dear One, aside from just a longing for sexual gratification — be it through a nudge or a tickle, a handshake or a hug, a kiss, a smack, an intimate embrace, or, of course, through the act of sex.
Do you want to know why that is?
It is because you all have source within you. A spark of the divine exists within your physical bodies, and aside from your connection to it through your own heart, the next closest source of divine energy that is available to you at all times, is each other.
On: Sometimes feeling is believing
Trust, believe, keep an open heart and an open mind, and you’ll feel us with you every step of the way Dear One.
Don’t, and we’ll still be with you, only you just won’t feel it.
On: Upcoming Events
You all have been asking about the details of my two upcoming events in New York, so at last, here they are!
Author Signing Event
February 10th, from 2pm – 4pm
Dolphin Bookshop & Cafe, 299 Main Street, Port Washington.
The shop is right on the water in Port Washington and has a beautiful view with a great café and lots of vegetarian and vegan treats to choose from. Two other authors will be joining me for the afternoon.
Discussion, QA, Reading & Signing Event
March 4th, from 6pm – 8pm
Kew & Willow Books, 81-63 Lefferts Blvd, Kew Gardens
Kew & Willow is a community funded bookstore that was opened by 3 friends who worked together at Barnes & Nobel before it lost its lease and was forced to close. They could not bear the thought of the borough losing its next to last bookstore and so they opened The Queens Bookshop to keep books in this vibrantly creative community rich with writers and readers. Refreshments will be served!
One is this weekend so I hope to see some of you soon!
